Arsenal fans will be hoping that Pep Guardiola’s potential departure from Manchester City does not end with another Premier League title to his name.

After Arsenal’s 1-0 win against Burnley, they are now one victory away from winning the title.

Journalist David Ornstein reported Guardiola is set to leave City at the end of the season, a manager who famously beat Mikel Arteta to two league titles in 2023 and 2024.

While Manchester City still remain in the title race, Arsenal fans took to X to express his happiness about the prospect of Pep Guardiola bidding farewell to English football.

Arsenal fans happy about Pep Guardiola leaving Man City

One Arsenal fan believes Mikel Arteta is set to build a dynasty in N5 if Guardiola does indeed leave City, as she wrote: “Pep decided to walk away from the league after realizing his reign is over. Mikel Arteta and his boys are taking over from here.”

Another supporter was happy that Arsenal look set to win the title whilst also being able to avenge their second-place finishes at the hands of the Catalan, claiming: “Arteta stopping Pep from winning the Premier League in his farewell season is one of the biggest daggers ever, and I absolutely love it.”

A third supporter joked, as he simply wrote: “We ran him out [of the Premier League.”

A fourth Arsenal fan believes Mikel Arteta could win the title next season simply due to Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola’s potential exit: “If Arteta locks in…next season’s title might be the easiest ever. No more Pep.”

With Arsenal becoming an elite side under Mikel Arteta, one fan is especially happy about the idea of his side winning the title in a season where the league leaders competing with Guardiola: “Glad Arteta will win this league while Pep is here. None of that, ‘he is only winning the league because Pep left’ nonsense.”

Finally, a sixth Arsenal supporter expects Mikel Arteta and Co to win the league for four successive campaigns simply because Pep Guardiola could depart Manchester City: “Now that Pep is leaving Manchester City, we shall have a moment where Arteta runs the league for four seasons straight.”

In some ways, the aforementioned supporters have paid the two-time treble-winner the ultimate compliment by rejoicing at his speculated exit from the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola predicted Mikel Arteta would be a success at Arsenal in 2020

However, Arsenal fans have every right to celebrate Pep Guardiola’s possible exit as Arsenal could well and truly dominate the Premier League in the same vein as Manchester City have for years to come.

Back in March 2020, things were not as bright as they currently are at the Emirates Stadium. But a certain Pep Guardiola always backed Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side to improve over time.

Guardiola said via The Mirror: “I was convinced he would be a manager when the opportunity comes and this was the opportunity for him. His ideas are already in the team, his positional play is getting better. I’m convinced Arsenal will get better.”
