  • Gavi on Bukayo Saka vs Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
  • Gavi didn’t hesitate.
  • Saka vs Kvaratskhelia: 2025/2026 stats.

Bukayo Saka will be desperate to show the world that he is the standout winger in the Champions League final over the likes of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola.

Saka is considered an Arsenal legend now after winning the Premier League title but the 24-year-old has the chance to further enhance his status by reigning supreme in Europe’s elite competition.

Kvaratskhelia has attracted interest from Arsenal and since his breakthrough season at Napoli in the 2022/2023 campaign, he has operated at an elite standard for the most part.

Gavi was asked to name the best forward in world football by Mundo Deportivo.

Gavi says Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is better than Bukayo Saka

Gavi opted for Kvaratskhelia over the likes of Michael Olise, Luis Diaz, Alejandro Garnacho, Ademola Lookman, Jamal Musiala, Anthony Gordon, Desire Doue, Nico Williams, Vinicius Jr and Joao Pedro.

The Barcelona midfielder expressed his admiration for the PSG speedster, saying: “Nico [Williams] is a very good friend of mine but Kvaratskhelia is one of my favourite players, so Kvaratskhelia.”

The youngster added: “Kvaratskhelia, even though Vinicius is great, but I chose Kvaratskhelia because he’s my favorite player.”

When asked to pick between Saka, who Patrick Vieira hailed as a player who could start in Arsenal’s legendary ‘Invincibles’ side, Gavi did not hesitate and claimed Kvaratskhelia is better than him.

However, Ousmane Dembele, who will be fit against Arsenal despite suffering a recent injury was preferred by the midfielder to the Georgian.

Ultimately, Lamine Yamal reigned supreme as per the Spaniard’s picks.

Bukayo Saka and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stats compared this season

Arsenal fans will likely side with Saka and disagree with Gavi about Kvaratskhelia as the England international is their crown jewel.

While Saka scored against Atletico Madrid, the former Napoli attacker’s electric displays against Liverpool and Bayern Munich in the knockout rounds of the Champions League exemplified his quality at the highest level.

Furthermore, Kvaratskhelia scored in last year’s Champions League final and played an instrumental role in PSG winning the treble.

Based on this season, several fans and pundits alike will be comparing the two stalwarts’ stats.

Statistically, Kvaratskhelia has the edge over Saka, having started one fewer game in all competitions and still providing 29 goal contributions, nine more than the latter.

However, which one of the two players leads their club to European glory later this month could well and truly settle the debate.
