Arsenal won the league after Manchester City lost to Bournemouth last week, and finally got to lift the Premier League trophy after their win over Crystal Palace on the final day of the league season.

While sadly the title celebrations could not take place at the Emirates as Mikel Arteta wanted it to, it was a celebration that had been a long time coming for the North London club after a long spell as the Premier League’s bridesmaid.

One of the faces of Arsenal in recent times, Ian Wright, has been supportive of the current Arsenal project throughout its ups and downs, and he has now predicted what the next few years could look like for the club.

Ian Wright says that this title win could be the ‘start of something’ for Arsenal

Speaking on Sky Sports post-match, Ian Wright seemed to hint at what he thought this Arsenal team might go on to do in future years.

“You hope this could be the start of something for Arsenal, [as] Pep [Guardiola] is going and Chelsea have to do what they need to do. What’s happening with Liverpool? We’re not sure. This is a time when you look at Arsenal’s team, the average age is 24 to 28 and  players will want to come to Arsenal now.

“It’s now up to [Mikel] Arteta and [Andrea] Berta who they want to bring in to continue this. There is a window for Arsenal before everyone else catches up. So, I’m hoping we [Arsenal] can take advatage of that,” said Wright.

He was supported by fellow Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp in his outlook on the Gunners, and with so many members of the media suddenly looking positively at Arsenal, fans have much to be happy about heading into the new season.

Jamie Redknapp says Arsenal are ‘going to go again’ for Premier League titles

Jamie Redknapp is also a believer in Arsenal’s trajectory potentially delivering them even more glory for the rest of the decade, saying:

“The dangerous thing for everyone else in the Premier League now right now is Arsenal could be strong for the next few years. They have good young players coming through. they have Max Dowman coming through in the next few years. They are going to go again.”
