Arsenal and Man Utd to battle for Jose Arnaiz

Arsenal have made a habit of signing young players from Barcelona in the Arsene Wenger era and they have their eyes on another young prodigy.

The Gunners are believed to be one of a handful of clubs that have contacted Barcelona regarding young attacker Jose Arnaiz with a view to signing him in the future.

Arnaiz came through the ranks at Valladolid, scoring 12 goals in 42 games for the club prior to joining Barcelona in a £3m deal back in August where he was immediately placed in their B squad.

With four goals and three assists in nine games for Barca B, the 22-year-old left-winger was handed a call-up to the senior side for their Copa Del Rey clash with Murcia and he scored in a 3-0 win which saw them progress to the next round.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are both believed to have approached Barcelona for Arnaiz who has a £17.8m release clause in his contract which runs until 2021. Juventus and Napoli are both also believed to be interested in the attacker.
