Arsenal’s reported interest in Aston Villa talisman Morgan Rogers is not breaking news considering both parties have been linked with each other for a while.
Arsenal’s interest in Rogers was serious back in April, which suggests how highly they rate the 23-year-old.
Furthermore, Mikel Arteta wants to sign Rogers and with the Spaniard having won the Premier League title now, he perhaps has more leverage in transfer dealings than ever before.
The Gunners are already seriously contemplating the prospect of signing the Englishman and have taken steps to complete a potential deal.
Arsenal have reached out to Morgan Rogers’ representatives
Rogers is open to signing for Arsenal but the club themselves have questions marks over whether signing the number 10 should be a priority when they already have Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze on their books.
Additionally, Aston Villa intend to keep Rogers and are in a strong position to do so as he is contracted to the Europa League winners until 2030.
The Athletic have reported that Arsenal have reached out to the England international’s representatives already and have asked to be kept informed about his situation at Villa Park.
Noni Madueke has dropped a huge hint about Morgan Rogers’ next move
However, the Halesowen-born star has attracted interest from several top clubs in Europe.
Manchester City are eyeing Rogers as well, who would not be against the idea of returning to the Etihad Stadium despite their decision to let him go in 2023.
While he has left City, Pep Guardiola rates Rogers highly and the Catalan’s assessment of the versatile attacker may have come into sporting Hugo Viana’s thinking ahead of the summer transfer window.
Interestingly, Noni Madueke hinted Arsenal could sign Rogers by liking an Instagram post recently where his England teammate and the prospect of the latter bolstering this Gunners side was mentioned.
