Vinicius Junior to Arsenal has received fresh encouragement after Real Madrid reached a verbal agreement to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.
The Spanish club’s move for another elite attacker adds further uncertainty around the Brazilian’s future.
Real Madrid have agreed a deal in principle with Leipzig, pending the final details. Diomande has also accepted a five-year contract after the Spanish club moved ahead of Arsenal, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 19-year-old scored 13 goals in 36 appearances during his first season in Germany. His performances also attracted an exploratory enquiry from Arsenal before Madrid accelerated negotiations.

Diomande can operate on either wing, although he featured regularly from the right for Leipzig. His arrival would not automatically force Vinicius out of the Bernabéu.
However, Madrid are committing another substantial fee to their attack while Vinicius approaches the final year of his contract. The Brazil international has yet to reach an agreement over an extension.
Arsenal are exploring whether they could take advantage of that situation. ReadArsenal reported within the last 24–48 hours that the idea of signing Vinicius has support across the club, although no talks have started between Arsenal and Madrid.
Mikel Arteta wants another left-sided attacker after Leandro Trossard’s departure. Christos Tzolis has joined the squad, but Vinicius would provide proven goals, individual creativity and experience in major Champions League matches.
TalkSPORT reports that Madrid’s agreement for Diomande comes while Arsenal consider an approach for Vinicius. Liverpool have reportedly decided against pursuing the Brazilian.
