Arsenal youngster joins Granada on loan

Having joined Arsenal in 2011 with fellow Spaniard, Hector Bellerin, Jon Toral has found it hard to break into the Arsenal team.

He has spent two seasons on loan to Brentford and Birmingham City respectively. Last season with the Midlands club was arguably his best, and he was rightly awarded Birmingham’s ‘Goal of the Season’ award, and both the ‘Players’ and Supporters’ Player of the Season’ awards.

He was arguably the pick of Arsenal loanees last season, which led to some thinking that he might be given a chance in the first-team next season. As of today however, it was announced that the young Spaniard will be joining Spanish side, Granada, on a 12 month loan.

It seems that Arsenal’s wealth of midfielders is really hindering Toral’s chances with the first-team squad. At 21-years-old he is still young and could yet a chance at Arsenal. A loan spell in La Liga is going to be crucial for his development and could well decide his future at the club.
