Arsenal interest in defender ended by Man Utd

Arsenal are getting desperate in their hunt for a new defender. Ever since Valencia upped the asking price for Shkodran Mustafi, Arsenal have pursued multiple targets.

Arsenal have now shown interest in ex-Man Utd defender, Jonny Evans and Monaco defender Marcel Tisserand. Now, however, it seems their attention has turned to England international, Phil Jones according to the Daily Telegraph

Arsene Wenger has turned his attention to the 24-year-old defender who has seemingly drifted away from Mourinho’s plans. Arsenal had tried to sign the young defender from Blackburn before he moved to Man Utd and were ready to match his £100,000 wages this time, while Stoke have also shown interest.

According to the Telegraph, however, Man Utd have told Jones that his future remains at the club and that they will not be allowing him to leave, especially to an apparent rival.

Arsenal’s main target is Shkodran Mustafi but at the moment, that deal has stalled.
