Huge Martin Odegaard update revealed ahead of Arsenal vs Fulham in the Premier League

One of the issues that Arsenal have faced in the past few months is squad availability, and it looks like Martin Ødegaard will not be available for the first of Arsenal’s final four Premier League games.

Mikel Arteta is usually able to find a new level of performance from his team in May, but might have to do it without a key member of the team.

Jurrien Timber has been injured for almost two months now, while Kai Havertz has been unavailable since coming off in last weekend’s clash against Newcastle.

Now it seems captain Martin Odegaard is part of Arsenal’s growing injury list and will not play against Fulham.

Martin Odegaard not seen training with Arsenal squad on Saturday morning

As per TikiTakaConnor on X, Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard was not seen around his team-mates prior to his side’s game later today at the Emirates.

An early substitution in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid had fans wondering if Odegaard was fully fit, as the number 8 was playing well and his departure seemed premature.

Speaking yesterday on the Norwegian’s availability, Mikel Arteta simply said ‘let’s see’—but it appears that Odegaard has not recovered in time to play his part versus the Cottagers.

Odegaard’s injury history this season is cause for concern

Martin Ødegaard has been injured six separate times this season, and therefore has only been able to play 22 out of the Gunners’ 34 Premier League games throughout the year.

This has meant that a rift has started to form between Ødegaard and the fanbase, and given his lack of availability, has led some to suggest he should be dropped as Arsenal captain going forward.

The longest of these injuries was the second one he picked up for the season, a knee problem that saw him sidelined for eight games in total.
