  • Arsenal might be looking at a big transfer in the summer
  • Gunners loanee has admitted he will be exploring options at the end of the season
  • He could fetch a fee vital in securing a huge name in the next transfer window

With Arsenal potentially interested in splashing out the big bucks on a huge transfer next transfer window, the club will also need to part ways with expendable players to raise funds.

It now seems as if striker Gabriel Jesus could be on his way out of North London to join Barcelona, while fellow Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli has struggled with form over the course of the season and could alos be set to depart Arsenal.

But another Arsenal star, who is currently out on loan, has stated his future is up in the air, and it could mean that Mikel Arteta and the board have more money to play with than previously anticipated.

Fabio Vieira has admitted he is ‘open to everything’ ahead of his Hamburg loan spell ending

Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira joined Arsenal in 2022, but after two seasons at Arsenal, where he ultimately failed to make an impact, he went out on loan to Porto for the 2024/25 season, and this year was sent out to Hamburg in the German Bundesliga.

Vieira has impressed in his time in the Bundesliga, scoring seven goals while setting up another four in the domestic league, and has earned himself a place in the hearts of Hamburg fans after his success with the club, which sees them comfortably safe from relegation in their first season back in the top flight.

On a potential transfer away from Arsenal at season’s end, Vieira did not reveal too much—but did say he was approaching the summer open-mindedly.

“I’ve been very happy here [at Hamburg] this season. I can feel that the fans really love me. Whether I stay or go, I will always be grateful to the club. They’ve done everything for me… in a few weeks, I’ll sit down with my family, my agents, and Arsenal and see what the best option is for me. But for now, I’m just looking forward to my vacation, to simply switch off and not think about football,” Vieira opened with.

It is unknown if the Portuguese midfielder will continue his relationship with the German club, as Vieira revealed that “[he] can’t say [anything about staying at Hamburg] yet. No matter what the future holds, I’ve been very happy here and will be forever grateful to HSV. The club has done everything for me; the support has been amazing.”

How much money could Fabio Vieira be sold for?

While Fabio Vieira’s market value is currently set at £15 million according to Transfermarkt, but football.london have reported that Hamburg will not be activating the £19 million transfer option for the midfielder, meaning Arsenal may have to accept a lower bid.

Regardless of the price, Vieira’s contract is up at the end of next season, and any amount, even less than £10 million, is better than the now 25-year-old leaving on a free.

Even if it is a small amount that the Gunners ultimately get, it could mean a lot more in terms of financing a transfer such as Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid or Anthony Gordon from Newcastle.
