At a Glance:
- Bournemouth can help Arsenal win the league title with a victory over Manchester City
- Fans have made calls for the stadium atmosphere to be stronger than ever
- The Cherries will also be able to guarantee European football for themselves with a draw or win
The Premier League season is only two games away from concluding, and if Bournemouth can pull off a win against Manchester City, Arsenal will win the Premier League title then and there.
In order to win the title on Tuesday, Arsenal must first be able to win against already-relegated Burnley, in a game that should be straightforward but could cause problems for the Gunners.
Manchester City players have spoken about how they are coping with the pressure ahead of their matchup against Bournemouth, but it does not seem as if Cherries fans are too nervous, more so opportunistic, given that it is manager Andoni Iraola’s final home game with the club.

Bournemouth fans want to ‘make history’ against Manchester City, and they might be able to
Bournemouth currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, and are almost guaranteed to compete in their first-ever European competition next season, given that they have a four-point gap to ninth in the league.
If they beat City, the South Coast side can still mathematically secure the final Champions League spot—but only if Liverpool fail to win their last game of the season, Bournemouth win theirs, and Aston Villa go on to win the Europa League.
This might seem like a long stretch, but Cherries fans think that creating a strong enough atmosphere will propel their team to being up for the task, especially given that they are 16 games unbeaten at the time of writing.
One fan has told Bournemouth fans to simply ‘enjoy tomorrow, [and] let’s make history,’ while another has described the club’s game against City as ‘intergalactically huge’ given that a victory, or even a draw, would secure the Cherries a European spot.
The Vitality Stadium is going to have an intense atmosphere, according to some
Given that coach Andoni Iraola is set to depart the club at the end of the season, as well as European football on the line, the fans will want to make sure the atmosphere is strong.
One fan states that there are “absolutely no excuses [on] Tuesday night for an atmosphere that rivals that of Bolton… the place [stadium] has to be rocking.”
Another supporter chimed in by saying “what an opportunity [the match is] for us to get Europa at home, under the lights, for Andoni’s [Andoni Iraola’s] final home game, and against Man City (would also hand the title to Arsenal)… Tuesday night is mega.”
Regardless of whether Bournemouth can win or not, there is an immense amount of pressure on Manchester City, and the matchup on Tuesday should be a must-watch for any Arsenal fan.
