Centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes was the player who missed Arsenal’s fifth penalty, after a performance that saw French media commend the Brazilian as one of the North London club’s best players.
Magalhaes was also told he should hold no ‘shame’ over the miss by ex-footballer and pundit Rio Ferdinand, and it seems like the wider football community was in support of the 28-year-old rather than against him.
