  • Arsenal fans slate one of their players who struggled against PSG.
  • Some supporters demanding Arsenal to sell him.
  • Six passes completed in the Champions League final.

Ultimately, Arsenal fans have every reason to be proud of Mikel Arteta’s side even after losing the Champions League final to PSG after having won the Premier League themselves this season.

Declan Rice praised Arsenal fans after PSG’s victory as well, with there seemingly being a real feeling of unity between the players and the supporters.

However, Arsenal supporters slated Noni Madueke and Martin Zubimendi for not stepping up and taking penalties during the shootout and leaving Gabriel Magalhaes to take the brunt of the defeat.

Similarly, the fans called Martin Odegaard out on X, who had a forgettable outing in Budapest.

Arsenal fans raging at Martin Odegaard after Champions League final no-show

One Arsenal fan believes Odegaard can no longer perform in big games such as against PSG anymore, writing: “Gyokeres and Odegaard are the biggest liabilities in important games. Gyokeres cannot keep the ball to save his life. He was atrocious again. Odegaard is just physically done. He cannot handle the intensity or physicality anymore. Not to mention that he lost his creativity.”

Another supporter claimed Odegaard’s captain’s armband should be stripped off him next season, stating: “The less said about Odegaard, the better. Just take the armband away next season.”

A third fan claimed the Norwegian’s excellent spell at the club could soon draw to a close, as he continues to struggle for form: “Odegaard’s time at Arsenal is coming to an end unfortunately.”

Other Arsenal fans want Odegaard to be sold, demanding the club to offload him after the midfielder’s poor display against PSG: “I’m sorry but if Odegaard ain’t sold this summer, we’re never going to get over the line in these cup competitions. Yeah, over a 38 league game season, we can win the league but we need a serious player to elevate this attack. None of this tempo-setting controller in an attacking spot.”

Another supporter agreed, writing: “Tbh [to be honest], I think Odegaard’s time is up. He just looks completely out of his depth now and is completely invisible whenever he plays.”

Lastly, a sixth Arsenal fan believes sporting director Andrea Berta should sell Odegaard off the back of his display against PSG: “If Berta knows what’s best, he should sell Odegaard this morning.”

Odegaard lifted the Premier League title recently but clearly, several fans have turned against him.

However, it is also important to remember that the supporters are upset with the former Real Madrid playmaker because they have high standards for him.

Odegaard’s statistics from his showing against PSG justify Arsenal fans’ frustrations.

For a player who is renowned for running the show to take just 12 touches and complete six passes in a Champions League final borders on unforgivable.

Odegaard was taken off after 66 minutes, and with Mikel Arteta often hooking his captain off in crucial games, the Spaniard does not seem to trust him to emerge as a difference-maker; a damning indictment for a player of the 27-year-old’s ilk.
