Arsenal’s Premier League win meant that supporters finally got to celebrate the team’s first league title in over 20 years, and fans lined the streets of North London in support of the Gunners.

While Arsenal could not win the Champions League final despite an impressive showing, it was a successful season that saw them put in good effort into all of the competitions they contested in.

It has been reported that over 1.5 million people attended the parade to celebrate Arsenal’s title, and it shows how united Gooners are over their club finally reaching the pinnacle again.

Leah Williamson says everyone at Arsenal can see what they ‘mean’ to the fans

Speaking at the parade, Leah Williamson, who plays for Arsenal’s women’s team, and is an established England international, delivered her verdict about how the men have performed this season and what it means to everyone.

“I’m a fan [of Arsenal as an institution], so I’m just as much enjoying the men’s celebrations, but it’s so nice [to see everybody celebrating].

“They’ve [Arsenal under Mikel Arteta] had a really successful growth journey over the last few years so to be here today, you can see how much the fans mean to us and we mean to them.

“I think it says a lot about the club that players stayed in one place for so long, how sad they are to leave and we’re sad to lose them. It makes room for somebody else to come and make that their journey, so I hope that’s what younger girls in the squad see.”

While Williamson was not able to win the female equivalent of the Premier League, the Women’s Super League, with her team, it clearly meant a lot to her that the men’s side were able to lift their first PL title since the Arsene Wenger era.

Arsenal fans react on social media about what the parade meant to them

In response to Arsenal’s post on X about what the stars of the team said about the parade, fans flocked to the comments to show what it meant to them, too.

One said that “it was a milestone parade that showed this club is more than just football—it’s a movement.”

Another commented on Arsenal’s status as a potential future dynasty, saying “Took them long enough to get back to that level, or is this just the beginning for Arsenal again?”

A final commented “You could hear relief mixed with disbelief in those quotes. [A] long wait builds character but trophies build legacies—which one are we chasing next?”

matchday.
